Blog #13 : Diva dance in "The.Fifth.Element"

Inva Mula

If you had watched the film “The Fifth Element” before, you must have a profound impressive on the song sang by the alien singer. This film is the opening film of the 1997 cannes film festival and won best director of the1998 Kaiser awards, best cinematography and 1998 best effects and sound effects. Although Diva is played by French actress Mawyn Le Beske, the singer is actually Inva Mula, the Albananian Soprano. The aria in “The Fifth Element” soundtrack is divided into two parts: the first part, named “The Latin American Moore Lucia”; the second part named “The Diva Dance”. The end of the first paragraph followed by the start of the second paragraph, to achieve a smooth transition like in the movie.

The most innovative representation is one of the reason to make the song unforgettable: main parts is bel canto with the pop music of the instruments. The singer is not a big star, but her beautiful tone is enough to touch everyone’s heart. I have a thought that the most wonderful sound of instruments in the world is human’s voice when I heard this song. The performance of Diva had combined the musical instruments and voice perfectly together, it feels like no longer have a primary and secondary parts. In addition, this seemingly peaceful and harmonious music, is ingeniously foil is undergoing fierce gun battel after the stage, there is humor in solemn and stirring, also had an indelible effect in promoting the plot of the film.

The original version form the film

Blog #24: ISYS100 MUSIC VLOG

When our group was workshopping ideas for our vlog, we were trying to find ways to encapsulate our theme- music. And what better way to achieve this than a karaoke session! It doesn't matter what genre you listen to, or your cultural background, or whether you can play an instrument. Music can, in many ways, bring people together and be extremely meaningful. Most importantly, it can be loads of fun! In light of this, our group headed to Mizuya- a popular Japanese karaoke destination in the city- to film our vlog. We were able to sing songs from each group members' favourite genres- movie sound tracks, rock music, KPOP etc. We channeled our inner Mariah Carey, and belted our hearts out- even if it didn't sound the greatest hahaha. Safal, one of our group members, brought his camera and microphone to record the vlog. He was also responsible for the editing of the footage, as he had the software for it. However, other group members contributed clips to the vlog by cap
